Audio Streaming on Windows 7
From Windows Media Player on Windows 7, you can stream music from your library to any AQ SmartSpeaker™ which is connected to the same network as the computer. Simply right-click the track you want to play, select "Play To" and choose your speaker from the list of devices.
From Windows Media Player on a Windows 7 PC, you can easily set up independent playlists, which will stream to each of your AQ SmartSpeakers™
From Windows Media Player, simply select one or more items, then right-click and select the speaker you want to use from the "Play To" section. A new playlist window will appear and the music will start playing. The playback controls in this window affect only that speaker, and you can add more items to the playlist by dragging and dropping them into the list. You can also re-arrange the list by dragging the files into the correct order.
You can repeat this process for as many speakers as you want - each time you select a different speaker to play to, it will open in a new window, so you have complete control over each individual speaker.
Unfortunately, we have not yet found a way to stream the same Windows Media Player playlist to multiple speakers so that you can get the best out of the left and right stereo sound feature on the AQ SmartSpeaker™, however, you can stream the same audio to multiple speakers from a Windows PC by using iTunes, see the AirPlay page for more information on using iTunes. You can also use Airfoil on your PC to stream any audio from your computer to single or multiple speakers
Using the AQ SmartSpeaker™ has never been easier. With AQ DIRECT Mode, you can connect any Wi-Fi capable device directly to the speaker without needing a wireless router - so you can now use the AQ SmartSpeaker™ wirelessly anywhere you want - in the garden, in the park, at a mate's house, and even whilst on holiday, wherever you go to.
It's simple to get connected - With your AQ SmartSpeaker™ switched on, simply press the Power/Mode button twice to switch into AQ DIRECT Mode, then connect to the speaker's built-in Wi-Fi network using your phone or laptop. You will then be able to see and use the speaker as normal in Windows Media player, iTunes, Airfoil, and other compatible applications. The AQ SmartSpeaker™ will remember your home Wi-Fi settings, so when you are back in range, you can simply switch back to CONNECTED Mode (briefly press the Power/Mode button once).
You don't need a password to connect to the AQ SmartSpeaker in AQ DIRECT Mode, but it is possible to set one up - which will prevent other people from streaming their music to your AQ SmartSpeaker™ if you are in a public place. Please see the full user manual, available from the support section for complete instructions on how to do this.
The "Play To" App, from Nokia, and available to download free from the Windows Phone Apps+Games store, allows you to send the music from your Nokia phone to the AQ SmartSpeaker™. Simply run the App, choose the track to play and the speaker to send it to, and hit play.
